Quick and easy Shanghai noodle dinner

What you'll need:

  • Shanghai noodles

  • Peeled shrimp (6-7 pieces per person)

  • Quarter of an onion

  • 3-4 cloves of garlic

  • Sweet soy sauce

Instructions:

  1. Noodles: Boil noodles for 5-6 minutes. Use chopsticks or another tool to loosen and separate the noodles while boiling. Make sure to stir so that noodles don't stick to the bottom of the pot.

  2. Drain noodles and run under cool water to avoid overcooking.

  3. Meat/veggies: in a saucepan, use a bit of olive oil on medium heat. Add gently crushed garlic and chopped onions. Once onions are slightly browned, add in shrimp (I usually like 6-7 pieces of shrimp per person). If you're vegetarian, opt for veggies instead!

  4. Once shrimp turns pink, it's now cooked and you can add in your noodles. Add sweet soy sauce.

  5. Cook until noodles absorb the soy sauce. You'll know once the noodles have a consistent brown colour all around. Enjoy!
